About Indian Support Center Inc.: Indian Support Center Inc. is a community-based organisation that addresses the needs of individuals of Indian sub-continent origin residing in Australia. With a focus on enhancing community well-being, the organisation aims to establish a dedicated Aged Care facility, starting with Home Care services, to cater to the community’s growing needs.
Job Summary: We seek a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team and assist in establishing our Aged Care facility, explicitly focusing on Home Care services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our elderly community members while also contributing to the development and growth of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Facility Setup: Collaborate with the management team to set up the Aged Care facility, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Develop Care Plans: Assess the needs of elderly individuals within the community and develop personalised care plans in consultation with the clients and their families.
- Coordinate Care Services: Coordinate and oversee Home Care services, including personal care, medication management, and other support services, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and holistic care.
- Provide Clinical Support: Utilise clinical expertise to address complex health issues and guide support staff in delivering optimal patient care.
- Promote Health Education: Conduct health education sessions for clients and their families to promote wellness and empower them to make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client assessments, care plans, and service delivery activities, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Collaborate with external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, government agencies, and community organisations, to enhance the delivery of care services and support the overall well-being of the elderly community.
- Support Organisational Growth: Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Aged Care facility, identifying opportunities for expansion and service improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse qualification with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Aged Care or a similar role, preferably in a community-based setting.
- Robust clinical assessment and care planning skills, with the ability to develop personalised care plans based on individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards governing Aged Care services in Australia.
- Commitment to cultural sensitivity and understanding the needs of individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly the Indian sub-continent community.
